Description
The gopher tortoise earned its name as it digs deep burrows-like a gopher. This massive tortoise, that may weigh up to fifteen pounds, has scaly, shovel-like the front legs which can be specialised for digging. It lives inside the southeastern america and is the best land tortoise native to the location.
